Gas transport tariffs in the Netherlands among the lowest in North West Europe

17 jul 2008

As in previous years, the tariffs for the transmission of natural gas in the Netherlands are among the lowest in North West Europe in 2008. This is shown from a comparative study carried out by Arthur D. Little in London. The study compares the transport tariffs of Gas Transport Services, the operator of the Dutch national gas transmission network, with the transport tariffs of 15 other North West European gas transporters. The transport tariffs for the Netherlands are low down in the group again, together with those of Denmark and Belgium.

The study covered a large number of transport cases based on numerous variables such as volumes carried, load factor and transport distances. GTS has commissioned this benchmark survey each year since 1999 to obtain an accurate comparative picture of the position of its tariffs within the competitive North West European gas transport market.

The survey can be downloaded from the page studies.
